Origins and Inspiration
The Pasifika Culinary Project began with a simple yet profound recognition: the aromas, flavors, and stories of our ancestors were at risk of being lost in the modern world. This realization took root in the heart of our founder, who grew up immersed in the rich culinary traditions of Samoan and Pacific Islander culture. These traditions were not merely recipes; they were expressions of love, a means of community gathering, and a celebration of heritage. However, as globalization and modernization threatened to overshadow these cherished traditions, the need to preserve them became increasingly urgent.
The story of the Pasifika Culinary Project is one of love, resilience, and cultural preservation. It is a tribute to the past, a commitment to the present, and a promise for the future. Our journey is a testament to the power of food as a universal language that connects us all, bridging generations and fostering a deeper understanding of our shared humanity. Through the Pasifika Culinary Project, we strive to inspire others to cherish their cultural roots and contribute to a world where diverse traditions are celebrated and embraced for generations to come.

A Personal Journey
For our founder, the journey was deeply personal. After the loss of her father, she longed for a connection to the past, to the stories and traditions he would have shared. It was during a family gathering, surrounded by laughter and the scent of traditional dishes, that the idea for the Pasifika Culinary Project was born. The discovery of her father’s Puligi recipe sparked a passion for understanding and preserving the culinary heritage she had only begun to explore.
